Came here for dinner and it was good. We shared some lamb chops and the meat platter for 3. The salad is really good as were the dips. I wasn’t as impressed by the yiros meat in the meat platter as I felt there could be more flavour or more different flavours in the meal.Overall it was good but I would caution against getting the platter, better to share a few different meals. I also don’t get why everyone likes the lemon potato, didn’t seem too special.
Wonderful Greek restaurant in Geelong. Service is very good, staff are always smiling and prompt to help. The food is next to none. For starter we had the saganaki and seafood meze to share. The saganaki tasted good but was a bit thin. All the seafood on the platter was amazing, sooo delicious. For mains we had kleftiko and lamb cutlets. Now the kleftiko was more lamb shank/shoulder with veggies and gravy. I wouldn’t say it was an authentic Greek dish. I thought it would have been served in a clay pot. Nevertheless, the lamb was soft and cooked very well. The lamb cutlets were superb 🤤 incredibly soft and tender, just melted in your mouth with its wonderful flavour. Mavs really does have some of the best authentic Greek food! Can’t recommend Mavs restaurant enough if you haven’t tried them yet. No wonder they won awards! 👏 Milton is a really nice guy and he’s done a great job, hands down! We always come here when we drive down to Geelong 😁
This is the first time I’ve dined in a Greek restaurant - after having dinner here today I realised I really should have done this years ago. I am not professional to tell you how authentic the dishes are but I can ensure you that food here tastes heavenly. We ordered Moussaka, Gyros plate and slow cooked lamb, all dishes come in generous portions. The Moussaka is such an interesting and incredible dish with layers of flavour mixed so well in a bite. Slow cooked lamb just falls off the bone and melts in my mouth, the gravy makes the veges taste great as well. Gyros with soft pita is also great. The service was also fast and extremely friendly. My wife and I ended up finishing everything of the three mains and were super satisfied. We will absolutely come back once we visit Geelong again.
sooo yummm, quick and speedy service, had a great dinner here!! grilled halloumi and dips to share as the entree was sooo good! and the moussaka was delicious!! we shared four entrees, had drinks and a main each and split between us was around $55 each!! so worth it!
Best Greek Restaurant in Geelong. Very friendly staff and more importantly some authentic Greek menu that was just as tasty. I’ll definitely be coming back with family as staff were very accommodating for my kids.
