Fabulous new fully vegan cafe! My heart & tummy are both very happy!!! So many choices & delicious lunch rolls, great variety of cakes & pastries - definitely worth a visit!!! 5 Stars!
Used to be an amazing place, it’s extremely expensive now and, you can’t see it on the photo, but the $25 lasagne portions are tiny, literally 3 bites and filled with water. On the menu it mentions “generous side salad” which was 2 medium sized cos lettuce with 1 cherry tomato on it lol. It’s sad because I used to come a lot and I always advocate for vegan food, but save your money. The only reason it’s not 1 star is because the staff are lovely and it used to be great! Financial greed is everywhere now so it’s kind of expected
I didn't have a very positive experience here. Went out of my way to stop in here while passing through from Melbourne, was looking forward to trying a new vegan spot. Came in at 9:30 am looking for some breakfast options, Google says they open at 9. Would kind of expect that most of the prep would be done 30 minutes into opening time, and there'd be some takeaway options ... one focaccia option available, and some cakes. Pie warmer empty, minimal take away salads/hot meals or breakfast options in general. Asked the staff if they could put some cheese and tomato into a croissant for me and toast it, was told no. This was disappointing, because there are several recently tagged photos on their Instagram of customers eating croissants with various fillings. I was the only customer in the shop at this point, so not sure why this was so difficult - they had the plain croissants sitting right in front of me on the bench. Staff said that the chef/cook was almost done prepping a pumpkin focaccia, and I could have one of those instead. So, I ended up ordering two focaccias (16.5 each), a slice of cake and a coffee for $48. Get back to my car, turns out they gave me a mushroom focaccia, not a pumpkin one. I can't eat mushrooms. So that was a waste of $16.5. Other focaccia was the tomato with basil pesto, spinach and mozzarella. 3 slices of tomato, a handful of spinach, tiny amount of mozzarella, and so little basil pesto that I didn't even realize it was there. Not worth $16.5, all I could taste was the seeds on the bread, not the filling itself. Had a chemical taste to it, think it was the spinach. Couldn't eat all of it, despite being starving due to the taste. Coffee not great, tasted burnt. Entire mushroom focaccia and the remaining tomato/spinach focaccia went to the birds once I arrived at my destination. Cake was okay, probably wouldn't pay $9 for it again though. Unfortunately, won't be returning next time I pass through.
* if I could give 0 stars. I would Feast used to be incredible, so much so my partner and I would go out of our way to visit. We came this morning and the experience was horrendous. No fresh food, salads or anything in the freezers/fridges. The only food was in the display cabinet. We specifically ordered from the menu because the food in that cabinet looked old, and stale. But surprise, surprise this is what we ended up getting. We ordered two burgers (one chicken one BLAT). They weren’t cooked for us, as we expected, they were taken from the display and nuked in the microwave. The tomato, and avocado were steaming, and wet. The lettuce was wilted and soggy. The bacon was half soggy half burnt from the salads. The cheese was curdled and tasted like it was off. The bread was wet from steam and I could barely hold it. Paying $17-18 for a BLAT I stupidly expected it to be cooked for us, not blasted in a microwave or oven. Took one bite and wanted to throw up. My partners chicken burger was no better, the salads were hot and steaming. On top of that, the staff brought us over a dessert they were trialling. I asked if it contained coconut as I have a severe allergy to it. They claimed it didn’t. Yet, based on the reaction I’m having, was a lie. My partner also feels incredibly ill. Mind you, we took all of two bites before immediately leaving. When we’d been to Feast before, it was VERY clear the food was made as it was ordered, it wasn’t microwaved and everything was the taste and texture it should have been. It is clear the quality between old and new management is substantially different. I fear Feast’s good name has now been tarnished by new ownership using the same menu, the good name yet delivering microwaved meals under the guise of fresh. Be better.
This little place was tucked away in a residential area. The vegan cheeseburger was wonderful, however I did have to ask for it to be cooked more. Pretty pricey for just a burger, though. There was only one other table to serve so I was surprised on why my burger came out so quickly. If I return to Geelong, this place, unfortunately wouldn’t make my list as a go to especially because of price and rushed cooking.
